The Australian Cancer Council put out excellent guidelines and information about skin protection. HelloCharlie has updated their Cheat Sheet with an extensive list of safer sunscreens – each with a ‘skin deep’ hazard rating.
You’ll always want to protect your baby or child from the mosquitoes that are abundant in many areas throughout the summer months. While the risk of illness as a result of a mosquito bit is small in Australia, Ross River Virus is contracted by around 5000 people each year.
We prefer to use to use a plant-based product containing citronella, tea tree oil or eucalyptus to stop mosquitoes biting. It is just as effective as an insecticide but you would need to re-apply two or three times.

Before you open the door, put on your hat. You can’t have too many hats – even if you’re only 3 months old! We’re stocked up on cotton hats for boys and girls and gender neutral /unisex ones too! Most have wide brims and easy toggle to stop them flying away in the wind, and can be thrown in the washing machine.
Summer holidays seem to promote a growth spurt and you might find that the kids need new swimwear. We stock boys board shorts and girls swimwear from size 2 to size 8. The organic cotton towels are luxurious – great for wrapping around the little person shivering from spending too long in the cold water, so you might want to add that to your wish list.
